Lynn Anderson is our Guidance Manager and joined us in April 2011.
Lynn provides guidance to Public Appointments Assessors (PAAs), the Scottish Government and all other interested parties on the requirements of the Code of Practice for Ministerial Appointments to Public Bodies in Scotland (the code), its interpretation and its application in specific appointment rounds. Lynn also provides advice on the requirements of the Equality Act and how its requirements may be met by the Commission and during appointment rounds.

Ian Bruce

Ian is our compliance manager. He manages the work of Public Appointments Assessors and provides them with training and advice to support them. He is the first point of contact for the Scottish Government and helps its sponsor teams to comply with the Code.
Ian’s career has spanned the public, private and voluntary sectors. His last position before joining us was as chief executive of a charity. In that capacity he worked with volunteer executive committees from communities across Scotland. He believes there is a huge untapped resource of people with the talent and commitment to serve on public bodies.

Karen Elder

Karen is our business manager, looking after finance and audit, office management and public relations.
Karen began her career in the oil industry, where she was responsible for the safe storage and distribution of technical data. She then joined the clothing industry. Initially employed to develop IT and office management systems, Karen’s remit grew, eventually becoming General Manager. Changes in the manufacturing industry and itchy feet led her to seek a change of direction, joining the Public Appointments Commissioner in December 2004.
